How-to
Both Artlogic and Artwork Archive allow full CSV exports of inventory and contacts. Export image URLs alongside — they are the fragile piece.
Map source columns onto the target schema. Aurelian's importer handles the common Artlogic and Artwork Archive column names automatically.
Never bulk-import a 5,000-row file cold. Import ten representative rows, verify every field, then run the rest.
Signed image URLs from the source platform expire. Either re-upload the originals or re-download them within a short window before the URLs die.
Enter new pieces into both systems for a month. Cancel the old platform only after a full inventory reconciliation.
Answers
For independent galleries and cross-category dealers, yes. Aurelian ships inventory, consignments, viewing rooms, clienteling, and invoicing on the same primitives Artlogic offers, at a materially lower price point and with a free tier to trial the full workflow first. For blue-chip galleries with existing Artlogic CMS websites and deep third-party integrations, Artlogic remains the safer choice.
Artwork Archive is a cataloguing tool for individual artists and private collectors — not a gallery workspace. It lacks multi-user role management, a proper consignments UI, and permissioned viewing rooms. Compare it to Artlogic or Aurelian only if you are one person cataloguing your own holdings.
Yes. Export your Artlogic inventory and contacts as CSV, then use Aurelian's self-serve importer. Gallery and Advisor tiers include a concierge migration where the Aurelian team maps and cleans the file for you and reconciles image URLs.
Aurelian does not yet ship a public gallery website / CMS product (on the roadmap for Q2 2026) or a dedicated art-fair booth planner. Everything else you would use daily — inventory, consignments, viewing rooms, invoicing, provenance — is live.
Aurelian's free tier is the lowest starting point. Artwork Archive starts at $8/month for solo use. Artlogic's entry tier is roughly $65/month and scales into the low four figures monthly for larger galleries.
Try before you migrate
The fastest way to know if Aurelian fits is to import 20 pieces and run a viewing room through it. That's why the free tier exists.
